Last week, 125 SSM Health team members from across Wisconsin attended the Wisconsin Hospital Association's annual Advocacy Day. While it was (very!) exciting to hear from Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur, the day's purpose is critical to our mission by giving our caregivers, support teams and leaders the opportunity to speak directly to state lawmakers about the issues that impact our patients, staff and families. We deeply appreciate the partnership we have with our hospital association partners at state and federal levels - their support, advocacy and partnership help all hospitals provide the care patients need when and where they need it.

The Women’s Center at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois, experienced its busiest month ever, with a record-breaking 150 births in March! We are LUCKY to have such amazing teams across our organization! 🍀

New Report Highlights How Hospitals Go Beyond the Bedside to Serve Communities Today, The Catholic Health Association of the United States and the American Hospital Association released a new report showing how nonprofit #hospitals and health systems deliver far-reaching community benefits—tailored to meet the unique needs of the populations they serve. Every community is different—and so are the ways hospitals step up to support them. SSM Health's commitment to training the next generation of health care workers starts early! At our hospital and medical group campus in Monroe, Wisconsin, 20 eighth graders are starting their Club Scrub experience. During the 8-week program students rotate through different areas of health care to learn and experience different aspects of health care careers. They kicked off the experience with a visit to the Cardiac Catheterization Lab where they got to see up close the anatomy of a cow heart, watched a cardiac stent be placed within the cow's vessel, tried on lead aprons, and learned about heart attacks!
