From March 17th to 21st, The School at Springbrook hosted a Scholastic Book Fair, sparking excitement campus-wide and encouraging a lifelong love of reading among students. Kathleen Bacon, a physical therapist, and her therapy dog, Cadbury, joined in the fun as part of their work with Therapy Dog International. Cadbury, a chocolate Labrador named after the chocolate brand because she was born on Easter, underwent extensive obedience training and successfully passed 13 required tests to become a certified therapy dog. Kathleen and Cadbury brought comfort and companionship to those attending the book fair. 2 Thank you to all who participated! #SpringbrookNY #ScholasticBookFair

We are thrilled to announce that The School at Springbrook’s students will have their inspirational artwork showcased in the Community Gallery Exhibition at the Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown, New York, from April 1st through the end of the month! This year’s theme and title, “Spectrum of Selfies,” is a powerful collection of mixed media self-portraits, created under the guidance of Springbrook’s Art Therapist, Tiffany Brzenk. Through vibrant colors, expressive details, and personal inspirations, these works celebrate individuality and emphasize that disabilities—such as Autism Spectrum Disorder—offer unique perspectives on the world and the beauty within it. Don’t miss it! April marks the beginning of World Autism Month 2025, a time to celebrate the diverse experiences, strengths, and contributions of autistic people while advocating for a more inclusive world. This year, the campaign focuses on "Connected Through Inclusion," emphasizing the importance of meaningful connections, community support, and opportunities for autistic people to thrive. We are so grateful to the New York Dental Hygienists’ Association (NYDHA) and the Central Region Component of the New York Dental Hygienists’ Association for bringing an exciting and educational experience to Springbrook's Kids Unlimited Preschool (KUP) classrooms in celebration of National Children’s Dental Health Month. The students had a fantastic time learning about the importance of oral health through engaging activities, interactive lessons, and fun games designed to encourage positive dental habits. Highlights of the Day: -Hands-on lessons about brushing and keeping cavities away -Reading fun and informative books about dental health -Playing interactive nutrition games -Each child received a new toothbrush, toothpaste, a dental-themed coloring book, and a certificate -Oral health fact sheets with preventive care tips were sent home to families The dental hygiene student volunteers did a great job making learning about oral health fun and approachable. Through their guidance, the preschoolers gained confidence in caring for their teeth and are more excited than ever for their next trip to the dentist!
