Had an incredible time at the 37th Special Care Dentistry Association Educational Conference. This conference brought together compassionate professionals dedicated to the oral health and wellbeing for people with complex dental needs. It was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do: to ensure that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has access to high-quality dental care. From engaging sessions to conversations about inclusive patient care and public health advocacy, I gained so much knowledge and perspective. Most importantly, I met people whose passion and dedication to this field is truly inspiring. Thank you to the SCDA community for the warm welcome, the insightful conversations, and the meaningful work you do every day. Can’t wait to keep growing in this space and contribute even more in the future!

At our recent SCDA Conference, these leaders brought their expertise, heart, and innovative models of care to the stage: 🧠 Shannon Weir, RDH, DDS – From hygienist to hospital-trained dentist, Shannon is committed to care for G-tube patients and medically complex populations at the University of Utah 🌍 Mary Bertone, RDH, BSc(DH), M.Ed – A passionate educator and community advocate from the University of Manitoba, Mary is helping build capacity in long-term care and remote communities. 🤝 Betsy Lee White, RDH, BS, FSCDH, FADHA – Co-founder of Access Dental Care, Betsy blends social work and dentistry to serve older adults and individuals with IDD in over 100 facilities. 💊 Ann Eshenaur Spolarich, RDH, PhD, FSCDH – A renowned researcher and educator, Ann brings her deep knowledge of pharmacology and special care to both the classroom and clinic at A.T.
