ICYMI: The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) published a timely analysis of the impact that the Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and Production Tax Credit (PTC) have had on solar, wind, and battery energy storage project development since the credits were substantively expanded in 2022, projecting that the electric power sector is poised for continued strong growth. At Spearmint Energy, we share the belief that the unprecedented demand for power is only going to increase, and that battery energy storage will be crucial to support the delivery of stable, secure, and cost-effective energy to the power grid. Our successful close of $250 million of financing last week – comprised in part of tax equity commitments – for the development of Tierra Seca and Seven Flags, two 100 MW / 200 MWh BESS projects in Texas’ ERCOT power market, is a testament to this and the CBO’s analysis.
