🧡 Spa Well is launching its in person networking event 8th May in London —and it’s all about people. Ours aren't your typical industry event. No stage. No long presentations. No giant brand banners. We don’t have speakers because we’re already delivering education every week through our webinars and online meet-ups. Instead, our events are all about something just as powerful: connection. You’ll find a room full of spa and wellness professionals—operators, suppliers, consultants—who simply want to meet, talk, and share. To laugh a little, chat a lot, and walk away with new friendships and fresh inspiration. ✨ New to networking? We’ve got you. We’ll start with a short, friendly networking exercise to break the ice—and if you’re coming on your own, let us know. Come and find us when you arrive and we’ll make sure to introduce you to others. No awkward starts, just easy connection. Because that’s what Spa Well is all about—making it easier to connect, collaborate, and feel part of something. Our first networking event is open to members and non-members - we know we're a little different, so come along, meet us and get to see why we've decided to shake it up a bit! 📆 8th May 2025 ⏰ 5:30-7:30pm 📍 Davines UK Office, 1a Britannia Street, London, WC1X 9JT A big thank you to our wonderful hosts Comfort Zone who have been incredible at helping and supporting us in the launch of our new networking event! Let us know if you’d like to come, or grab your spot by signing up in the Spa Well community: www.spa-well.com Hope to see you there 💛 At the moment we are using generic stock images, however, at our first event we're going to get some great networking photo's that we can use to bring our events to life! #SpaWell #SpaCommunity #WellnessIndustry #NetworkingRedefined #InPersonEvents #ComfortZone #LondonEvent #WellnessProfessionals #spamanager

Why We Host Monthly Meet-Ups at Spa Well - "Let's Talk About Therapist Retention" We know how tough it can be to step away from the day-to-day of spa life—especially for managers and therapists juggling packed schedules. That’s why we created our monthly online meet-ups: 60 minutes to connect, share, and support one another in a way that’s accessible and easy to join. These sessions are all about keeping the conversation going—regularly and openly. No gatekeeping. No competition. Just spa and wellness professionals from across the industry coming together to talk about what really matters. This month, we’re focusing on something that’s top of mind for so many of us: therapist retention. 💬 How do we keep our teams motivated and engaged? 💡 What’s working—and what’s not? ✨ Are there creative ideas out there that we haven’t tried yet? From flexible scheduling and wellness perks to better onboarding, recognition schemes, or career pathways—there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. But together, we can share what’s working, what we’re experimenting with, and what we’d love to try. These meet-ups are about more than just problem-solving. They’re about building an open, collaborative space to move the industry forward—one conversation at a time. Our next meet-up is: 📆 Thursday 17th April 2025 ⏰ 11am UK time 💻 Join us in Spa Well - www.spa-well.com We’d love to see you there—and help shape future topics together too. #SpaWell #SpaCommunity #WellnessProfessionals #TherapistRetention #SpaLeadership #IndustryInsights Tara Moore Rebecca D. Why is continual learning such a big focus at Spa Well? Our founder, Sara Young, shares her story in a new post today—from managing aircraft engine contracts at Rolls-Royce to retraining as a massage therapist, moving into spa leadership, and later stepping into a tech role. One constant through it all? Learning. It’s not just about gaining new skills—it’s about staying curious, building confidence, and navigating change in an industry that’s evolving faster than ever. From AI and automation to sustainability and leadership, the spa world is shifting. And if we want to evolve with it, we need to support each other through education, collaboration, and connection. That’s why Spa Well exists—and why continual learning is at the heart of everything we’re building. 📖 You can read Sara’s post below 💬 And if you have knowledge to share, we’d love to hear from you. #SpaWell #SpaLeadership #ContinualLearning #WellnessCommunity #SpaIndustry #EducationMatters #WellnessProfessionals #FounderStory
Why continual learning is so important for our spa industry as managers and leaders I’ve always believed that learning is the most powerful tool we have to grow—not just in our careers, but as people. My first career wasn't spa at all, in fact after university I initially found myself managing contracts at Rolls-Royce for their aircraft engine accounts (yes, very not spa and wellness!). As well as learning contracting and legal jargon, I also now know exactly how a jet engine works, and it's as simple as suck, squeeze, bang, blow...apparently! From there (and after numerous work trips to Asia), my path led me to retrain as a massage therapist and move into spa management with brands such as Cunard, Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa and Exclusive Collection. Then most recently after I had my first son and once I'd figured out how to use an iPhone correctly and what an API is (thank you Alan O'Riordan) I headed into a business development role in tech at Alliants. Every step along the way, learning has played a key role—helping me navigate new industries, build confidence, and keep moving forward even when the next step wasn’t clear. My passion for learning is why I want to give back to the industry that I love so much. The spa industry is evolving at pace, and while our foundations remain rooted in human touch, connection, and care, we’re now being called to engage with new tools and technologies—AI, automation, data, and digital platforms—that are shaping the way we work, lead, and serve. It can feel like a big shift for an industry that has always relied so heavily on personal presence and intuition. Embracing these changes doesn’t mean losing what makes our work special—it means using education as a tool to stay curious, keep up with the shifts, and make informed choices about how we evolve alongside the industry. My strong belief in the power of education is why continual learning sits at the heart of Spa Well —the new community platform and app I’ve created for spa and wellness professionals. Because in a fast-evolving industry like ours, staying up to date isn’t a luxury—it’s essential. But it should also feel exciting, inclusive, and accessible. That’s why we’re building: ⭐ Weekly expert-led webinars ⭐ Interactive workshops ⭐ A growing library of practical resources ⭐ A community space for shared experiences and real conversations It’s a place where spa professionals can learn, connect, and grow—together. If you’ve created an educational resource or have insights to share, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s make learning a shared journey.
