Jeanie’s Jar of Hope was created in memory of Jeanie—a devoted mother, wife, and friend—with a mission to nurture hope and enhance quality of life through compassionate care initiatives. On April 2nd, Legacy Trust of Southern NH Health was honored to receive a generous $4,000 donation from this incredible foundation to support our Oncology Food Pantry and Uber Health programs. Why This Matters: Donations like this make a real, tangible difference, helping us break down barriers to essential care and ensuring patients receive the support they need during challenging times. We are deeply grateful for this generosity and the lasting impact it will have on our community. Thank you, Jeanie’s Jar of Hope, for keeping her legacy alive in such a meaningful way! At a Magnet-recognized hospital, nursing goes beyond bedside care—it means leading with compassion, advocating for equity, and making a lasting impact. Susan Barbera, a wound care clinical nurse, exemplifies this every day. When caring for a patient with complex wounds, she also recognized the social challenges the patient faced—including unstable housing and financial hardship. Susan secured donated compression wraps through a medical device company’s Compassion program and, after multiple attempts, successfully advocated for insurance coverage. Her determination ensured the patient received essential medical supplies at no cost—removing barriers to healing and restoring dignity in care. Susan’s work is a powerful reminder of what Magnet Nursing stands for: excellence, empathy, and advocacy at every step.
