Our Employee Business Resource Groups (EBRGs) and Sony Pictures Studio tour team came together in honor of Women’s History Month for a special behind-the-scenes tour of our Culver City studio lot! Attendees learned from impactful company leaders from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, drawing inspiration from how women have historically influenced and shaped #SonyPics into the studio it is today.     Thank you Asian Community Empowerment (ACE), Emerging Professionals (EP), OUT, VETS, Voz, Women and Allies of Action, Vision and Empowerment (WAVE), and Women in Technology (WiT) for a truly collaborative effort!

#SonyPics’ Tom Rothman (Chairman and CEO, Motion Picture Group) took the stage on Monday night at CinemaCon 2025, and shared an update on Sam Mendes’ highly anticipated Beatles films. Coming to theaters in April 2028, The Beatles - A Four-Film Cinematic Event will star Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison. Today OUT @ Sony Pictures Culver City Employee Business Resource Group celebrated International Transgender Day of Visibility with an event on the studio lot that recognizes the contributions and achievements of the transgender and gender non-binary community. 

Congratulations to the winners of Broken English Productions’ Women Director’s Initiative competition, Johanna Brinckman, Ini Ishola, and Marta Méndez Cross! Through this program, created to support new women directors in the film industry, each of these filmmakers will receive a grant and resources to produce their short films, along with participation from well-known actors to help bring their project to life. We’re proud to work with so many exceptional women on our leadership teams and throughout #SonyPics! #WHM2025 

Throughout February, #SonyPicsEmployees came together with our Black Employees (BE) Business Resource Group to celebrate U.S. Black History Month.    In addition to a happy hour and game night, the BE team partnered with employee groups WAVE (Women and Allies of Action, Vision and Empowerment), Voz, and Hue (Helping Unite Everyone) for a special screening of TriStar Pictures’ hit comedy One of Them Days, a Storytellers workshop series, and delicious food trucks, all spotlighting the creativity and talents of the Black community.    Celebrations also included a BE Inspired speaker series with leaders from across our businesses, including Towalame Austin (EVP, Global Philanthropy, Social Impact & Environment, Sony Music), Bernard Williams Jr. (Assistant General Counsel, Ethics & Legal Compliance, Sony Pictures), Rashidi Jones (VP, Motion Picture Finance, Sony Pictures), Rebecca Agbe-Davies (VP, U.S. Distribution, Sony Pictures Television), Tori Carter (Executive Director, Social Marketing, Sony Pictures Television), and Ashanti Ishakarah (Director, Brand Partnerships & Licensing, Game Shows). 

In honor of February’s UK LGBTQ+ History Month, #SonyPics’ OUT EMEA Employee Business Resource Group hosted a quiz and social event in our London office to celebrate the contributions and cultural impact of the LGBTQ+ community.
