A small update from my travels to #Kubecon and #QCon in London. #ServiceMesh is unequivocally NOT dead, not even close. I got to have so many great conversations with people trying to solve the issues Service Mesh is designed for. 'Service Mesh' may be a bland term but what it has come to mean in the industry is something much bigger than those words alone convey. Long live Service Mesh! Istio #ambientmesh is really resonating with folks looking for solutions across the entire scale spectrum; from massively multi-cluster to small form-factor. Every single mesh conversation I had was an ambient one. For sidecar users there is now good migration tooling which fills a critical gap and brought smiles to a lot of people when shared with them. The impressive cost savings results solo.io was able to share made those smiles bigger.
