This simple, tragically recent, intervention by industry outsiders like ex Uber employees shows how neglected our industry is. It should not be this easy to have such a large impact on an industry that’s been around this long.

We started SkyFi because getting answers from space felt like trying to get a classified doc declassified, with less transparency. Gov folks were overpaying and couldn’t figure out how to use the same image across the department (still a problem). Commercial users couldn’t even figure out who to call. Meanwhile, the new entrants were busy selling PowerPoints So we built the solution. No gatekeeping. Just a clean platform that lets you get answers like it’s normal. Appreciate Defense Tech Signals for breaking it down: https://lnkd.in/gRRHG24N

Why is speed a given for civilian technology but still a luxury on the battlefield? SkyFi’s CEO Luke Fischer puts this contrast into sharp perspective: his daughters can easily task satellites at breakfast, yet soldiers face delays in critical situations… That's why SkyFi's integration with GoTAK's ATAK plugin is changing the game. Real-time, high-resolution satellite imagery is now, directly accessible on end-user devices in the field, empowering troops, first responders, and tactical teams to make critical decisions faster and smarter. The stakes have never been higher, and neither has the demand for speed. It's time defense tech caught up. And with SkyFi and GoTAK, it finally has. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gZPdRqSu

Amazon released a new browser use agent this week and it's phenomenal. Here it is searching for a specific area, selecting historical satellite images, and going through the checkout process - all autonomously from a simple prompt. Open Browser Use failed miserably at this task and while OpenAI and Anthropic's browser agents got farther, they both end up in weird loops and can't finish. There are parts of the world we’ve never mapped – because it’s just too hard. Vanuatu. New Caledonia. Hundreds of islands where boats can’t go and planes won’t fly. The seafloor around them is often blank on charts. That blank space is dangerous. It hides shallow reefs, steep drop-offs, and coastal changes no one sees coming. It slows down humanitarian aid. It puts ships and people at risk. And it makes environmental protection almost impossible. But satellite-derived bathymetry is changing that. From space, you can measure ocean depth without sending a boat. You can map entire coastlines in weeks. What used to take years and millions of dollars now takes one order through SkyFi. TCarta’s 10 meter bathymetry product is already building better maps for places like Vanuatu and New Caledonia. Areas once missing from the record are getting filled in. That means safer routes. Smarter planning. And a new way to support places that had been left out of the conversation. The ocean floor doesn’t have to be a mystery. We’re just looking at it from a different angle. You can now access precise forest carbon data in just a few clicks on SkyFi – with clear, transparent pricing. Planet's Forest Carbon Measurements provide reliable global data on how much carbon trees store. It uses satellite imagery, radar, and LiDAR sensors, which measure tree height and forest thickness around the world. Advanced computer models trained on real forest measurements accurately estimate carbon storage without needing ground visits. Planet verified these results against respected datasets from NASA, ESA, and the United Nations. This validation shows clearly where the data performs best, highlighting accuracy and areas needing caution. Businesses, researchers, and governments can use this data to monitor forest health, meet environmental rules, manage land sustainably, or track forest changes anywhere globally. Start analyzing forest carbon today – order your data easily through SkyFi’s user-friendly platform https://lnkd.in/g6aqVw8b
