April is National Minority Health Month! Since its official launch in 2002 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, National Minority Health Month has been dedicated to raising awareness about health disparities that continue to affect racial and ethnic minority groups. At Siskiyou Community Health Center, we recognize the critical importance of equitable access to care. This month, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing health equity, breaking down barriers, and uplifting the voices and needs of our diverse community. Let’s work together for a healthier, stronger, and more equitable future. 💙 #NationalMinorityHealthMonth #HealthEquity #CommunityHealth #StrongerTogether #sisikyoucares #fqhc

Today, on April 7th, we join the global community in celebrating World Health Day. This year's theme, "Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures," emphasizes the critical importance of maternal and newborn health. Tragically, nearly 300,000 women lose their lives due to pregnancy or childbirth each year, while over 2 million babies die in their first month of life, and around 2 million more are stillborn. That's roughly one preventable death every 7 seconds. World Health Day was established to mark the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO) on April 7, 1948. Since 1950, it has been observed annually to raise awareness about pressing health issues worldwide. At Siskiyou Community Health Center, we are committed to supporting the health and well-being of mothers and their newborns through our Early Childhood Support Program. Let's work together to ensure every mother and child has access to the care they need for a healthy start and a hopeful future. https://lnkd.in/gfvrJkWp #WorldHealthDay #HopefulFutures #HealthForAll #sisikyoucares #fqhc

At Siskiyou Community Health Center, we recognize that alcohol use and dependency can stem from deep emotional pain and unprocessed trauma. Rather than viewing it strictly as a disease, we understand it as a coping mechanism—an attempt to manage overwhelming feelings that haven't yet found a safe place to land. Relapse is not failure; it's a signal that emotional wounds still need care and healing. We believe in addressing the root causes of addiction, including shame, grief, and the belief that one is unworthy of love. If you're looking for support that focuses on emotional healing and self-connection, we're here for you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out. #AlcoholAwarenessMonth #sisikyoucares #fqhc
