Simone's Solutions is one year old! (Well it will be on May 1st) It's amazing how quickly the time has passed. Going from reluctant freelancer to full blown solopreneur has been a journey for sure. Here are 3 lessons I learned the hard way. 1) If you hate doing it, don't offer it: the best part of owing a business is the control you have. If there's a service you hate doing, then don’t offer it, even if others find it to be a big earner. The misery is never worth it. 2) Understand the value of your services: don't lowball yourself!!! Your services and time have value. You're doing yourself a disservice by lowballing and your clients. No one likes getting told a service is increasing in price 30% 3 months in. Start on the right foot with appropriate pricing. It'll save you and your clients time and energy in the future 3) Networking is a must (Introverts, I am talking to you): I got my first 3 clients all from networking. When you're starting out you may not have a marketing budget, so you have to find other methods to reach your target audience. Networking can be done virtually or in person, either way just do it. I am so grateful for all the support I've received. Here's to one year down and more to come! 🎉 🥂
