Updates

  • April is National Autism Acceptance Month. At SJJCC, we don’t just talk about inclusion—we live it all year long! We strive to be a model of acceptance, understanding, and empowerment for individuals of all abilities. Through SJJCC's Sandler Family Kehilla Center and our Irene & Ronald Cohen Life Skills Training Center, we’re proud to create spaces where everyone can learn, grow, and thrive—just as they are. In celebration of World Autism Awareness Day on Wednesday, April 2, our staff dressed in blue to show support, spread awareness, and celebrate the beauty of the neurodivergent community. Inclusion isn’t just a value here. It’s a practice we bring to life every day. Explore how we celebrate neurodiversity all day, every day at https://lnkd.in/eYTZDDMn.

  • We were honored to host Lauren Grodstein this morning for an insightful conversation on her novel, “We Must Not Think Of Ourselves.” Set in the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II, the book follows Adam Paskow, a teacher recruited to document the lives of fellow Jews in a time of unimaginable adversity. Through stories of love, determination, and sacrifice, Grodstein sheds light on their enduring spirit. Thank you to Lauren and all who joined us for this meaningful discussion.

  • As Women’s History Month draws to a close, we took a stroll around the JCC today to celebrate the women who inspire us each and every day. Great company, fresh air, and a moment to reflect on the amazing women in our lives—what could be better? Thanks to everyone who joined us!
