🚀 Three Months, Three Events, One Growing Community
The first quarter of the year is nearly behind us, and I’m proud to share that Women In Product Houston has hosted three events, each one uniquely inspiring and deeply rewarding.
💡 In January, we joined forces with Founder Institute for a special night celebrating innovation, entrepreneurship, and especially the incredible female founders shaping Houston’s startup ecosystem.
🍷 In February, we gathered at one of Houston’s coolest spots for an evening of a few drinks drinks, where we shared laughs, swapped stories of our failures (and what they taught us), reflected on lessons learned, and discussed our plans for the future. Those vulnerable moments of sharing create bonds that extend far beyond our professional lives.
🧠 Just last night, in partnership with SheSpace, we hosted a series of roundtable conversations on:
- Design Thinking in Product
- The Current Workforce & Job Search Trends
- What I Wish I Could Tell My Younger Self
- AI & AI Agents in Product Work
The room was full of amazing insights, encouragement, curiosity, and laughter. I left with the strong feeling about the future of product management and, especially, women in product - bright, smart, and deeply human.
✨ Why This Matters
Product management is unique. We navigate the latest technologies and analytics, implement processes and frameworks, track trends and competition, and master the art of stakeholder management. But at its core, product management is fundamentally about people - our users, peers, and customers. It's about growing empathy, building trust, and deeply understanding the "why" behind everything we do.
This human element is precisely what makes our community so valuable.
In a world full of events, I’m always struck by what happens when a group of smart, passionate women come together to share honestly about the topics that inspire and challenge us.
And what makes me happiest is this: for exactly a year and three months now, we've been 'testing our hypothesis' about how to create a better, safer space for women in product across Houston. A place where we can come together to learn, grow, feel safe, trusted, and respected. With each meeting, each conversation, and each shared experience, I see that 'hypothesis' being validated and strengthened.
We’re just getting started. And I’m excited for what’s ahead.
P.S. Huge thanks to SheSpace and Cassandra Iku for welcoming us into such energizing and beautiful offices, and to everyone who helped organize, lead, and came to participate.
