In honor of Autism Acceptance Month, we would like to introduce Halle Dotson from Bright Light! Starting as a Behavior Technician (BT) in 2019, Halle quickly realized that ABA therapy was more than just a job–it was a calling. Determined to grow, she set her sights on becoming a BCBA. Fortunately, she wasn’t alone, her Bright Light team in Rincon provided unwavering support. Today, as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Halle finds immense fulfillment in the milestones her clients achieve, like witnessing a once nonverbal child say “Mama” for the first time, an unforgettable moment that reaffirmed her purpose in this work.
About us
Homes and communities are where people thrive. We’ve held this belief since our founding in 1967 and have worked to make it reality for the thousands of individuals we serve. We continue that work today and are using innovation, technology, and collaboration across our organization to do more for more people. Sevita is the leading provider of home and community-based specialty health care, with 40,000 employees proudly serving over 50,000 individuals. We believe that people can grow, learn, and be as independent as possible in the homes and communities where they live. We serve adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, individuals with complex care needs, people recovering from brain injury, seniors in need of everyday support, children in foster care, adults and children with autism spectrum disorders, and other individuals who may require care across a lifetime. Our goal is to enable these individuals to be as independent as possible and to live and thrive in their communities. It’s what we’ve done for more than 50 years, and it’s what we continue to do today. For us, it’s a calling. Because when you have a chance to make a difference in someone’s life, you take it. Our team has a passion for helping others grow, learn, and live their best life. We meet people where they are and help them reach their full potential. At Sevita, it’s not just a job. It’s about seeing others for who they are, and understanding and meeting their needs and preferences. An individual’s health and wellness goes beyond simply physical health – it’s behavioral supports and looking at social determinants of health, too. And we are right there, supporting the whole person, because every person has the right to live well.

Congratulations to our Caregiver of the Week, Kiana Gagen! At Sevita, we lead with our hearts and our minds. “Being in a Direct Support role has given me a new outlook on life in general. I have been honored to be able to be a part of the further growth and development of the people that I provide care. I could not imagine a more heartwarming and fulfilling job. Every moment that I have been able to be with those I support and take them into the community to do things that they enjoy and every chance I have gotten to help them work towards their goals in life has been memorable for me.” Thank you Kiana for all you’ve done the past 3 years!

It’s Intern Appreciation Month! Meet Social Work/Therapeutic Intern Paige Irving. "This internship is the best choice I could have made because I'm gaining those 1:1 skills that I was seeking in my previous internships. I was worried I would come out of my program without having that experience having only studied it in books." Congratulations to Emily Sallee, our Caregiver of the Week! “Something memorable from my job would be how Mikey points down and compliments my shoes, or when Joe’s face lights up when he finds something funny. Aside from being a mother, this is the most fulfilling job I will ever have and I am grateful that I get to be a part of this team. I hope every day I leave a positive impact on their lives.” #CareersWellLived
