About a third of the families living in New York City’s #homeless shelters, not including migrants, have at least one adult who gets up and goes to work. But their salaries — some as high as $40,000 or $50,000 or more — are outmatched by the depth of the city’s affordability crisis and the severity of its housing crunch. S:US continues to work towards eradicating homelessness by expanding access to permanent housing and supportive services that help individuals and families achieve long-term stability. Through #affordablehousing solutions and person-centered care, we help New Yorkers rebuild their lives and find home.

About us
Services for the UnderServed (S:US) believes every New Yorker has the right to lead a life of purpose. Since 1978, S:US has been turning this belief into reality by advocating for people with life circumstances marked by homelessness, intellectual/developmental disability, behavioral health and addiction challenges, poverty, criminal justice involvement, and trauma. Our dedicated workforce of 1,800 provides services and supports to transform the lives of tens of thousands of individuals and families in New York City and Long Island. By delivering high quality services that address the complex circumstances of each individual, we help transform lives, improve neighborhoods, and break the cycle of poverty for current and future generations of New Yorkers.

Yesterday the Starbucks NY Metro Store Development team held our Global Month of Good event in the Bronx to support the nonprofit, Services for the UnderServed. The organization built brand new apartments to help the underserved New Yorkers start new lives. We assembled “starter kits” of cleaning supplies, kitchen supplies, linens, laundry carts and other household items. Thank you to the partners who attended to support this great cause and the nonprofit, Services for the UnderServed for continuing to make a positive impact in our communities. Special thank you to Minjung Park and Emilie Laurent for letting us know about this opportunity. We enjoyed our time together and had an amazing day! ❤️

The overcrowding of mental health facilities forces individuals unfit for trial into jails, putting stress on the system while worsening their conditions. We must invest in adequate #mentalhealthcare solutions to provide appropriate treatment outside of the justice system. Services for the UnderServed https://lnkd.in/dfMd4K-8
