  • East Anglia TWO continues to move at pace 🚀 We’ve welcomed HSM Offshore Energy BV on board to deliver a 5,100mt offshore high-voltage substation and a 3,700mt jacket foundation for our 960MW EA2 offshore windfarm. Initial engineering works for the substation began last summer under an early work agreement. Construction is expected to start in Q4 2025, with the jacket and topside ready for installation in 2027 🏗️ SPR Managing Director for Offshore Ross Ovens said: “This contract is a great example of the innovative and forward-thinking approach we took to securing quality supply chain partners for the project at the earliest opportunity and means we can hit the ground running to begin construction later this year. I can’t wait to see the project take shape.” 💚 Learn more 👉 https://lnkd.in/e2ygB9Wr

  • Our MachairWind team had a fantastic time on Mull and Iona last week, meeting with local communities!   After our recent meetings with fishermen and the community council, we returned to the islands to host two public drop-in events – one on South Mull and one on Iona. This time, our engineers and environmental consultants joined us, sparking lots of interest in how the windfarm will be built, the materials we'll use, and insights from our survey work so far.   We had a good turnout with both familiar and new faces, engaging in discussions about the project's opportunities and capturing suggestions for future engagement, including extending our educational engagement beyond the classroom – a huge thanks to all who attended 💚   We'll be back out again later this year – stay tuned!   #MachairWind #RenewableEnergy #OffshoreWind

  • Cybersecurity might not be the first thing that comes to mind when we think about renewable energy, but it’s one of the biggest challenges we face. At the RenewableUK Cyber Conference, Barry Carruthers spoke about the urgent need to protect energy systems. As the energy industry accelerates its transition to renewables, the importance of cybersecurity has never been greater. With power grids, windfarms, solar plants, and battery storage systems becoming more interconnected, the risk of cyber threats targeting critical infrastructure is rising. The RUK Cyber Security Seminar brought together all parts of the supply chain to discuss potential cyber threats and to uncover innovative strategies in the evolving renewable energy sector. 💚 #CyberSecurity #RenewableEnergy #EnergySecurity #DigitalTransformation

  • The Fit4Offshore Renewables (F4OR) programme is a great opportunity for island and coastal community-based companies and for Scotland as a whole. It’s particularly exciting to see that four companies within Argyll & Bute, where our MachairWind offshore project will be based, have been successful and will join this year’s F4OR cohort: Ocean Ecology Ltd, MacLeod Construction Ltd, Shearwater Marine Services and SAMS Enterprise 🌟   By sponsoring this programme, alongside other developers, we are taking positive steps towards making offshore wind in Scotland a success! #OffshoreWind #Renewables #Innovation
