Creating opportunities for all South Carolinians begins with empowering communities in every corner of the state. Today, S.C. Commerce team members joined representatives from the Southeast Crescent Regional Commission (SCRC) — including Federal Co-Chair Jennifer Clyburn Reed — along with community leaders and the Open Space Institute for a site visit to Black River State Park in Williamsburg County. The group learned more about the park site and SCRC-funded boardwalk trail — a project designed to enhance access to outdoor recreation and foster economic revitalization in surrounding rural communities. Housed within S.C. Commerce, South Carolina's SCRC program is dedicated to transforming underserved areas by strengthening communities and improving quality of life across the state's 39 SCRC-designated counties.
