Meet Tyler Hackaday, one of our Assistant Camp Directors 🏕️ Going from camper to volunteer to director, Tyler is excited about implementing more partnerships with outside organizations to bring a more unique experience for the kids, such as partnering with the state park rangers, self-defense instructors, and the local search and rescue team. 🌲 What's your favorite memory? My favorite memory is always setting off the 4th of July fireworks and having the Annual 4th of July Hamburger Eating Contest. 🌲 What do kids get out of attending camp? There is no better experience in life than living in the outdoors with some of your closest friends. Kids gain so much independence and confidence after just 1 week of camp that they cannot access on a regular schedule. Meet Luke Badaczewski, Heinz House Camp Director & Licensed Social Worker 🏕️ In his third summer as Heinz House Camp Director, he's excited about the new and returning activities at camp, such as the Trout House, family kayaking trips, woodworking programs, and more. 🌲 What's your favorite memory? Sand volleyball! Volleyball was all the rage during the summer of 2024—we had a 3 v 3 tournament, staff vs. camper games and 6 v 6 games at Moraine State Park. 🌲 What do kids get out of attending camp? They build new friendships, learn critical outdoor skills and how they're capable of more than they think, and challenge themselves to try new things!
