This year, we've introduced a new award to celebrate some of the incredible leaders at Saint Mary's! This recognition is called the Luminary Leadership Award, and it honors exceptional leadership and dedication towards achieving our mission. The first recipient of our Luminary Leadership Award is Jessica, Phlebotomy Supervisor! Jessica has had several nominations submitted on her behalf, and here are some of those kind words that have made her deserving of this recognition: "I had a patient with very specific lab orders within the neurology office, and Jessica was kind, patient, and so helpful. She located specific labs and helped get them ordered. She is the coolest - thank you, Jessica." Saint Mary’s is proud to announce the formation of a new chapter of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) in northern Nevada! This exciting development is a significant step toward fostering collaboration and advancing healthcare across the region. Led by Patrisha Fanter, MSN, RN, CNOR, Director of Perioperative Services at Saint Mary’s, this new AORN chapter aims to unite operating room staff from northern Nevada’s healthcare community to share best practices, improve patient care, and stay at the forefront of advancements in surgical technology and techniques. Becker's Healthcare's has released their prestigious list of 2025 CMOs to Know, and we would like to congratulate our Chief Medical Officer, Reka Danko, MD, for making the list once again! As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Danko oversees clinical operations, advising on staff supervision, utilization, and physician practice evaluation. Her extensive experience in internal medicine and addiction medicine enables her to guide improvements in critical hospital performance metrics like treatment effectiveness and length of stay.
