She has participated in not just one, but two of our programs—EveryDay Creative, and CLTRE Keeper. I can talk about the impact of CLTRE all day, but it is moments like this that really make all of the work worth it. Vince Sales, the Chief Executive Officer of Everyday Impact Consulting, was introduced to philanthropy at a very young age through his lola. Now, as an adult, he carries those values with him in many ways, including through serving on the board and holding a Donor Advised Fund at the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. Hear Vince's fully story here: https://lnkd.in/gvDRaQfR

Music education opens doors, and thanks to a grant from our Dennis Mangers Fund for Young Performing Artists, more doors are opening for Sacramento’s youth. With support from the fund, the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera’s Link Up program expanded to serve twice as many students in 2024, reaching 8,000 young people from Title I schools with free instruments, hands-on music training, and unforgettable live performances. The impact is clear: 🎼 Over 85% of students demonstrated a new ability to read and understand music. 🎼 30% of participants were English learners gaining new skills and confidence. 🎼 Thousands of students found a creative outlet that supports their cognitive, social, and emotional growth. This is what happens when we invest in the next generation of performers—and the future of our region. Learn more about recent grants from the fund on our website: https://lnkd.in/gNiYPcyM

“As someone who spent years fundraising for causes that matter to me, I know how hard it can be to ask for support. It takes time, strategy, and often, more emotional energy than people realize. And for leaders of color at local nonprofits — many of whom are serving communities that have long been under-resourced — the challenges can feel even greater. That’s part of why our program Cultivate is so meaningful,” writes our Community Impact Program Manager, Amy E. Brown. “When I think about Cultivate’s impact, I find myself thinking about the relationships that have formed across our three Cultivate cohorts, the generosity of spirit among these leaders, and the way they show up for one another. To me, the sense of community is just as valuable as the funding.” Read more at https://lnkd.in/gzJ8n5qC.

Last year, our first Philanthropy Summit brought leaders and philanthropists together to learn, connect, and share with one another. Our education sessions brought relevant issues and solutions to the table. This year, for #PS25, we're doing it again! We are seeking speakers to lead engaging one-hour education sessions on philanthropic topics at this year’s Philanthropy Summit on Monday, September 15, in Sacramento. Do you have knowledge to share?💡Submit your session proposal by Thursday, April 17 at www.sacregcf.org/summit.

An individual retirement account, commonly known as an IRA, is a great option to save for retirement and make tax-deferred investments. If you own an IRA and are 70 ½ years or older, you can transfer up to $108,000 to charitable organizations tax-free every year. These transfers are called qualified charitable distributions, referred to as QCDs, and are a simple way to benefit causes that matter most to you and receive tax benefits in return. Additionally, if you are 73 years or older, QCDs count toward your required minimum distribution, or RMD, for the year. Learn more about how you can make QCDs through your Foundation fund on our website:
