The Regional Transportation District (RTD) operates and maintains a mass transportation system for the benefit of 2.8 million people in the Denver/Boulder metro area. RTD provides bus and train, on-demand, paratransit, airport, and special event services. To streamline travel, RTD offers several real-time trip planning mobile and web applications that provide vehicle location and arrival time. RTD also offers various fare options including Mobile Ticketing and reloadable fare cards. RTD is an organization made up of dedicated and qualified people doing extraordinary things to increase mobility integration throughout the metro area. April’s Operator of the Month is Haile Fitwi from the East Metro Division. Fitwi was chosen for his heroic efforts to provide assistance and request emergency services for a customer who was attacked by a stranger minutes before the bus arrived at the stop.
