About us

Founded on May 3, 1912, The Rotary Club of Toledo has a long-standing tradition and members are dedicated to the Rotary International motto: “Service Above Self.” Our Club is number 44 out of 32,000 worldwide and is currently the 10th largest Rotary Club in the world. As a non-profit organization comprised of business and professional leaders, we proudly adhere to high ethical standards, build community goodwill, develop relationships through networking, and encourage fellowship and mutual respect. Above all else, we provide humanitarian service to groups in need at home and abroad. In its early years, the Rotary Club of Toledo was instrumental in founding a school for children living with disabilities. Today that same school, Glendale Feilbach School, serves as one of Toledo’s public elementary schools. Our Club maintains an active role with the school. Our members take pride in supporting and enhancing our local community and the world through volunteerism; share their talents, time and resources for the advancement of local and international communities; and, take an active role in building fellowship with other community leaders and working together to promote positive change for the benefit of others. The Rotary Club of Toledo supported and organized its own foundation in January 1952. The Toledo Rotary Foundation is a 501c3 and became a public foundation in 2001.

  • For our most recent #ServiceAboveSelfDay, our Environmental Services Committee volunteered with Toledo GROWs & urban farm. The group helped plant seeds that will be put into Community Gardens that will help support access to locally grown, healthy food in our community. Toledo Rotary has committed to #ServiceAboveSelf by decided to replace 4 of our weekly luncheons with these days of service. Each day represents a unique opporunity for Toledo Rotarians to get out into the community and make a difference. We are grateful for the opportunity and the 75 Rotarians that participated in this most recent day of service.

  • Please join us at our weekly Rotary luncheon this coming Monday, April 14, at the Glass City Center at 12pm to hear from Metroparks Toledo Executive Director, Dave Zenk. In 2017, Metroparks Toledo asked the community, What if tomorrow were different? Since then, Metroparks has fulfilled a commitment to provide a Metropark within five miles of every Lucas County resident, and under the leadership of Executive Director Dave Zenk, was named the No. 1 park system in the nation. Now, the agency is nearing the halfway point in the development of Glass City Riverwalk. The historic, transformative initiative aims to revitalize the Maumee River waterfront, connect neighborhoods, enhance public access and change perceptions about the region for the better.

Today, we were joined by George Bullerjahn, Professor Emeritus of Biology at Bowling Green State University to discuss these toxic algal blooms so we can better understand them, and determine how we can best make a positive impact on this issue. • Our Rotary Club has made the intentional decision to forego 4 of our weekly luncheons this year, and replace them with a #ServiceAboveSelfDay where Club Members get out in the community and take action in support of #CommunityService. This most recent Service Above Self Day, our club participated in 5 projects with 75 volunteers. Seen here are some clips and coverage of Toledo Rotarians in action.
