Early childhood is full of firsts. The sweetness of a child’s first laugh. The excitement of hearing those first words. The vulnerability of first steps. With all the firsts of early childhood, caregivers often come second—especially for those with limited access to resources. Room to Grow partners with caregivers and their families, and asks “What do you need?,” so that caregivers are equipped to focus on their children’s important firsts. By emphasizing a two-generational approach, we are able to effectively support families and children along their many developmental milestones, so that families and their children can thrive from the start, and for the long term. Since our founding in 1998, Room to Grow has provided over 4,000,000 baby and toddler items worth over $31 million to nearly 6,000 families. And we couldn’t do it without our supporters, partners, and champions. Supporting Families During Their Children's Critical Early Years
About us
For more than 25 years, Room to Grow has promoted equity and opportunity by providing families with personalized guidance, community connections, and essential material resources from the third trimester of pregnancy to their children’s third birthday. We meet families where they are, supporting their caretaking journeys during their children’s most critical years of growth. Our nonprofit’s evidence-informed approach helps families expand their knowledge, skills, and confidence so their children can thrive from the start. Over the course of our three-year program, we partner with families and connect them with dedicated program team members to support their well-being and enhance their strengths and knowledge; community resources to bolster their growth; and essential, high-quality baby and toddler items. Between in-person visits, we celebrate childhood milestones, build on progress, and address questions or concerns. Room to Grow currently partners with families in New York, Boston, and Chicago. Last Thursday, 10 Robert Half volunteers spent a rewarding afternoon with Room to Grow, giving back to the community. We sorted and quality-checked baby clothes by size and season, ensuring they’re ready for families in need. Our efforts will directly support low-income families in the Room to Grow program. Thank you for having us RTG!

As National Reading Month comes to a close, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who helped make this month so impactful! 💙 Whether you donated books, made a contribution to our fund, hosted collection drives, or spread the word, you made a real difference in the lives of families trying to give their children a strong start. A special thank you to Nickelodeon, HarperCollins, and Muslim Volunteers of America for their incredible support in donating books 📖 In 2024 alone, we distributed 31,500 books across our Boston and New York Family Centers. That’s thousands of stories shared, imaginations sparked, and learning moments created — and a high need for books year-round. If you want to keep the momentum going, send us a DM and we’ll find the right collaboration for you! Together, we can ensure more children have access to books that can shape their future. Thank you for being part of this important work. 🙌

Room to Grow’s goal is to be part of creating a more equitable world, in which all families will have the resources they need to raise their children to achieve their dreams. However, countless Black families and mothers in Boston and across the nation find their dreams of raising healthy and successful children at serious and disproportionate risk. In line with the goals of #BlackMaternalHealthWeek and following a well-received inaugural event in 2023, we are excited to facilitate our third-annual Room to Grow Talks, featuring the stories and experiences of community members working to improve Black maternal health outcomes in Boston and beyond. Join us on April 11 to dive deeper into this urgent issue. Register to attend in-person or join the livestream: https://lnkd.in/ggYvG5UY 🗓️ Friday, April 11, 2025, 9:30am - 11:00am 📍 More than Words, Boston, and Virtual Livestream 🤍 Suggested donation of $20 in honor of Boston's 20th anniversary

*** Founded 5 years ago during Covid, MaMaMa is a French sister organisation. As Room to grow, they support families with children in their early childhood by providing coaching and essential baby and toddler items. Thank you Room to grow for showing the way ! We were so happy to have the chance and opportunity to meet before the end of our trip.

🚨 Last chance to help us reach our $1,000 goal for this week of #NationalReadingMonth! 🚨 We’re so close to putting more books in the hands of young children. Can you help us cross the finish line? Just $5 can provide a book and bring us one step closer to equipping more families with full at-home libraries. Let’s make this final push together! 📚💙 Donate now and share to spread the word: https://lnkd.in/eP8rnreq #EarlyLiteracy #ChildrensLiteracy #ChildrensLiterature
