You didn't think we forgot about Environmental Services did you? As Careers in Aging Month draws to a close, we’re shining a light on Ken, who’s been a part of our team for 15 years this month! When asked about why he chose a career in this field, Ken said, "Caring for the residents is number 1 - this is their home. I also work alongside an amazing team and have made great friends. Plus, I wouldn't have my Harley if not for here." Ken’s dedication, hard work, and sense of humor are just a few of the reasons we’re grateful to have him on our team. If you take pride in teamwork and making a difference in the lives of others, (or maybe you're saving up for a Harley of your own 😉 ), a career in Environmental Services might be for you! Meet Dyan and Mary Ann, two compassionate nurses at Rockingham County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center who have dedicated their careers to caring for older adults. For Dyan, a childhood experience shaped her commitment to long-term care. "When I was ten, I visited my grandfather in a nursing home where he received poor care and no rehabilitation after a stroke. Seeing my family leave with sadness and worry made me realize I wanted to care for others in a better way. Today, I’m grateful to be part of a team that provides the highest quality of care, ensuring our residents live with dignity, respect, and love." Mary Ann shares a similar passion, saying, "I find personal fulfillment in helping others and working with the elderly. My strong compassion allows me to provide care and support to residents and their families during their golden years. It’s rewarding to make a positive impact and ensure they are well taken care of." If you're a dedicated nurse looking to make a difference in the lives of older adults while working alongside a team of professionals committed to excellence, consider a career with us! What a fantastic celebration for Deb's retirement! A 1981 graduate of Concord Hospital School of Nursing, Deb dedicated her career to surgical nursing, pediatric nursing, and post-anesthesia care. She served for an incredible 41 years at Exeter Hospital prior to joining our Assisted Living Community. Deb considers it an honor to have cared for so many over the years. While we’ll miss her, we know she’s looking forward to more time gardening, exploring the woods with her cocker spaniels, and making memories with her five grandsons. (Fun fact: She also has a private pilot’s license!) Thank you, Deb, for your years of kindness, care, and dedication. Wishing you blue skies and happy days ahead! 💙
