At Riverside, we understand that improving community health goes far beyond clinical care. It takes collaboration, trust, and meaningful connection. In partnership with the Newport News National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), we recently hosted the Women’s Fellowship Clinical Roundtable at New Beech Grove Baptist Church—a dynamic event that brought together over 80 women for a candid and impactful health discussion.
Led by Frankye Myers, MSN, RN, NE-BC, Jamila Wynter, M.D., Monilla Dent, Charleton G. Goodman, DMD and Frances Hicks, PMHNP the panel explored key topics including menopause, mental health, gastrointestinal health, preventive screenings, and the critical—yet often overlooked—link between oral health and whole-body wellness.
This roundtable wasn’t just a conversation; it was a commitment. A collective effort by Riverside, the NAACP, and local faith leaders to foster trust, remove barriers, and deliver culturally relevant health education where it’s needed most.
Together, we’re building bridges between health care and the community—one meaningful moment at a time.
