An EV can feel like an uncommon technology to first-time buyers so they naturally have questions about range, charging and battery health. As people get experience driving and owning an EV, these questions will change, but for now it helps to be able to answer them with real-world data. At Easterns Automotive Group, having a deverse inventory of #BEV #PHEV and #ICE is just part of our commitment to Any Car, Any Way, For Everyone ®. Here's an interview I did with the Recurrent team about the realities of EV retailing in 2025.

Help EV shoppers cure the fear of road trips. Key lesson 👉 A little planning goes a long way. Recurrenter Andrew Garberson drove his EV 750 miles in one day recently (then back the following weekend). He stopped every 90 to 110 miles with an average charging time of 15.5 minutes per stop. Compared to making the trip in a gas car, he estimated that it required one extra stop (than normal bathroom breaks) and an extra 35-45 minutes of trip time. The EV road trip is absolutely possible... as long as drivers follow some of these tips.
Vehicles powered by BYD's super e-platform could reach charging speeds of 1,000 kW and travel 249 miles on a 5-minute charge. For comparison, Tesla’s Superchargers can add up to 171 miles of range in 15 minutes, however, Tesla has a much larger network of more than 65,000 Superchargers worldwide. Used EVs are affordable EVs. Most Americans buy used cars, it is almost 3X the size of the new car market. EVs are just starting to have a robust used car market so it’s important to get right. If used EV car buyers have access to better battery data you can imagine that all parties can differentiate cars more confidently meaning a healthy and liquid used market for EVs. EVs continue to gain marketshare in the USA, internal combustion engine car sales peaked in 2017. We want to make sure we are scaling market driven solutions to the used EV market - creating more pull for new EV sales.
