Effective communication is needed in team settings. The importance of this is discussed in the RBLP leader task of Keep the Team Informed. One method of communication that is highly impactful is storytelling. Providing purpose for team members is essential for building and leading resilient teams. This involves challenging each member of the team to reach their full potential. Managers should encourage team members to learn new individual and collective skills. Managers should also help their teams understand how their work contributes to the organization’s mission. A clear sense of purpose empowers team members to collectively overcome challenges. Providing purpose improves motivation and commitment.
