In 1896, Charles Rao established a small saloon in New York City. More than a century later, the business continues to be family owned and operated. Rao’s Specialty Foods was formed in 1992. Southern Italian cuisine is the key to its success, and for over 25 years, Rao’s has been refining and designing mouth-watering recipes for private homes nationwide through the establishment of the Rao’s Homemade® line of products. Rao’s Homemade® sauces are made from the finest, freshest, all natural ingredients. Italian tomatoes, olive oil, fresh vegetables and fresh basil are slowly simmered to create perfectly balanced sauces. In addition to sauces, Rao’s Specialty Foods offers a selection of premium dry pasta, dressings, marinades, olive oils, vinegars, tomatoes, and fire-roasted red peppers.
