Ramen VR held its first internal AI Hackathon to explore AI's potential power within game development. Our team created some incredible projects and in this new blog post we focused on discussing two of them: 'Chiptune DJ' and 'CCG Card Generator'. Ramen VR is transforming game development with advanced XR + AI tools.
About us
XR + AI are the most fundamental computing shifts of the past century. We're using XR and AI to build products that empower creators of online games and virtual worlds. Meaningful games can change lives, and every game starts with its developers. We believe that game devs can change the world. We're a team of devs working on solving the hardest problems in game development. We previously built the #1 VR game Zenith: The Last City on Steam and Quest. We've raised over $40m+ to date and have been working in stealth on our next game as well as tools that will shape the future of game development.

🎉 Thrilled to announce that our team won #1🥇 place for the Meta for Developers Primary Track and Best XR Games by Ramen VR at Immerse the Bay 2024, one of the largest Extended Reality (XR) Hackathons held at Stanford University! 🎉 We created Forgotten Spells - A Mixed Reality co-location multiplayer game enabling PvP duels through gesture-based spell-casting. In just 36 hours, our team tirelessly: - Implemented Netcode for synchronized multiplayer and co-location functionality - Deployed the $P Point-Cloud Recognizer algorithm for gesture recognition, allowing players to cast custom spells through symbol drawing - Designed unique spells (e.g., fireballs, lightning, earth walls) with custom visual effects, audio feedback, and immersive VFX for engaging gameplay The journey was intense but deeply rewarding, and I was surrounded by some of the brightest minds in XR development. Huge thanks to Meta, Ramen VR, the hackathon organizers, and our fellow participants for making this such a memorable experience. To my teammates: Seonghyun Park, Daniel He, and Yeonwoo Son — you’re truly amazing, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we achieved together! Also, special thanks to James Hu, for emotional support. Earlier this month, Ramen VR sponsored Stanford XR's Immerse the Bay Hackathon! Our Co-founder Lauren Frazier and Director of Operations Kristani Alcantara hosted a workshop titled "How to Make a Good Game...Fast" and served as judges for the "XR Game Jam" track. It was inspiring to meet so many talented hackers. We had a blast giving away snacks too 🍜 Huge shoutout to Stanford XR for hosting such an amazing event. We believe game devs can change the world and we're happy to invest in students pushing the boundaries of what immersive gaming can be! #ImmerseTheBay #XRHackathon
