Project Refit believes combating isolation will reduce suicide rates among the military and first responder communities.
About us
PROJECT REFIT - "No longer fight alone" - MISSION Here at Project Refit we are committed to a single mission: combat isolation. - STORY Project Refit's story begins in the valleys of Afghanistan in 2014. Daniel Lombard, Co-Founder of Project Refit, was involved in two IED explosions. The worst of his injuries were TBI and PTSD. But, there was another story, one of leadership, that had been unfolding for years before this. CSM Martin "Gunny" Barreras was Dan's, and thousands that served under him, most revered leader. He led from the front, still participating in combat operations even when he did not have to. His primary goal was to develop young men into leaders of tomorrow. Gunny DOW on May 13, 2014. This really had a negative impact on all of his men, current, and past. Fast forward to 2017 when both Co-Founders, James Corbett and Dan Lombard, talk about a new solution to help military personnel stay connected with one another. After a couple of years of testing, research, and modification, Project Refit has landed on its new strategy of the hybrid model, combine technology and in-person support to meet the modern military member and family where they are both online and off. - BEAT THE STIGMA "One Military Member (Past/Present) and First Responder at a time" Project Refit is looking to change the negative connotation around mental health. Project Refit plans on doing this by helping implement and support simple, make sense programs for a military member (past/present) and first responder. We will incorporate family into these programs, as well as, creating programs for only military and first responders.
