As Pratt & Whitney’s 100th anniversary year unfolds, we continue to celebrate our history. Earlier this week, employees at our East Hartford and Middletown, Connecticut facilities witnessed “Ready 4 Duty” flyover as it makes its way to Europe as part of a 12,000 mile “Navy to Victory Tour” organized by the Commemorative Air Force. This unique WWII-era plane is a Douglas R4D-6S aircraft, the US Navy's version of the legendary DC-3 airliner and C-47 military transport aircraft, powered by Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp engines (a key contributor to Allied air power in WWII). #100YearsOfFlight
