  • 🌟Meet your PSA Board of Directors… Pravin Mishra is currently pursuing a doctorate in nutritional sciences at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, under the mentorship of Dr. Rajesh Jha. His research focuses on evaluating feedstuffs and additives to promote broiler performance by optimizing gut health for sustainable broiler production. 🐔 Originally from Nepal, Pravin earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University. 🩺 During his third year, he had the opportunity to visit Dr. Woo Kim's lab at the University of Georgia as a visiting scholar. After completing his DVM, Pravin moved to the U.S. for further studies and earned his master’s degree in animal sciences, focusing on poultry nutrition and gut health, from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. 💡 Pravin has made significant contributions to his field through presentations at various conferences. He has also published research in many prestigious journals, including Poultry Science, and his work has been cited nearly 1,000 times. 📚 🏆Throughout his academic career, Pravin has received numerous awards and honors, some of which include the PSA Andrew F. Giesen III Undergraduate Internship, PSA Hatchery Brooder Development Award , University of Hawaii Manoa Departmental Merit Scholarship, East-West Center Foundation Scholar and PSA Hatchery’s Student of the Year 2024.

  • 🌟Meet your PSA Board of Directors… Muhammad Ali is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in poultry science at the University of Georgia under the mentorship of Dr. Chongxiao (Sean) Chen. His research focuses on poultry nutrition, specifically investigating the interaction between protein and energy and its effect on broiler growth performance, carcass and cut-up parts yield, and muscle myopathies. Originally from Pakistan, he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Veterinary & Animal Science, Lahore, Pakistan. During his final semester, he interned in the poultry industry, which marked the beginning of his professional journey in this dynamic field. He gained several years of practical experience working with large-scale national and international poultry feed companies before moving to the United States. Ali earned his master’s degree in poultry science and nutrition, along with a graduate certificate in feed science from North Carolina State University. 🎓 He has actively contributed to the field by presenting his research work at IPSF, PSA Annual Meetings, and the ANC, as well as publishing papers in different journals, including the prestigious Poultry Science. 📚 🏆Throughout his academic career, he has received numerous awards and honors, including the Embrex Award for Excellence (USA), Harold Reese Memorial Scholarship (USA), PTC+ Scholarship (Netherlands), College Merit Scholarship (Pakistan), and induction into Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society.
