Last week, the POLYMEER Project consortium gathered in Ghent, 🇧🇪, for its second meeting since the project kick-off 👋 Over two days, partners shared progress, toured facilities, and aligned on the steps toward the project objectives. 💡🌾#POLYMEER is building a sustainable value chain using #BrewersSpentGrain (BSG) to produce #biobased plastics for agricultural films, brewery packaging and automotive textiles. Read all the details of our consortium meeting on our website 👉https://ow.ly/oaaO50VATSj First results are emerging, stay tuned! #Polymeer #Sustainability #Bioplastics #CircularEconomy #EUFunded #Innovation #BSG

🍺 Cheers from Leuven! On 8 April, Ombretta Marconi from Università degli Studi di Perugia presented a poster on the POLYMEER project at the Trends in Brewing Conference in Leuven, Belgium. This year’s theme, “Innovations in products and processes”, was the perfect backdrop to showcase how we are turning brewers’ spent grain (BSG) into sustainable #bioplastics. #POLYMEER stood out as a bridge between traditional #brewing and circular #bioeconomy solutions. A big thank you to everyone who visited our poster and shared their insights! 🌱♻️ #Sustainability CircularEconomy #Innovation #EUFunded

🌟 Our General Assembly in Ghent is over! Today we changed the location and we were hosted by Normec OWS. During the first part of the morning, Marius-Febi Matei and Noemi Nodari from Gate2Growth conducted a workshop about Intellectual Property Rights. We learned about the different types of IPR such as patents, copyrights and trademarks, and the implication for POLYMEER Project 📑 Later, our hosts Steven Verstichel and Eveline Beeckman gave us a tour of their facilities and showed us the work they do at Normec OWS. 👏 We are excited to continue our work towards the success of #polymeer! #biobased #polymer #copolymer #sustainability #EUfunded #EUProject

📢 Yesterday we had our General Assembly in Ghent, Belgium! The day began with a presentation of the project by our coordinator Assunta Marrocchi, followed by a description of the work done in WP1 working in the fractionation of wet #BSG into fractions to produce bio-based #polymers, co-polymers and polymer blends. We had the opportunity to do a very interesting tour facility at the Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant 🏭 Finally, all partners presented the work that has been done in every work package since the start of the project. Stay tuned, as today there is still some work to do! 🙌 #polymeer #biobased #copolymer #brewing #sustainability #EUProject

🙌 Today, the #CBEInfoDay took place in #Brussels and our partners from Zabala Innovation Europe attended representing POLYMEER Project. The Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) and the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) play an important role in funding innovative, #sustainable, and circular #biobased industries across Europe 🌾🍃 From learning about proposal submission and evaluation to understanding call management rules and best practices for writing a successful proposal, the #CBEInfoDay offered relevant information for those looking to contribute to Europe's bio-based transformation. 🔗 Read more about CBE JU’s impact and how it aligns with our mission: https://ow.ly/o3Af50VtSRZ #CBEJU #CircularBioeconomy #BioBasedInnovation #POLYMEER #Sustainability #Innovation

POLYMEER Project reposted this
📅🎊 International Zero Waste Day! Yesterday, the 30th of March, we commemorated the global initiative of #ZeroWaste, aimed at shifting our production and consumption habits. 🥗 By embracing sustainable practices and evolving towards a circular economy, we can make a significant impact on waste #prevention and #reduction. At LOMARTOV SL, we are working on different initiatives to preserve and protect resources for a cleaner future: 🌾 POLYMEER Project: Turning agricultural by-products into valuable feedstocks with innovative processes, creating high-performance and sustainable bioplastics. 🍅 FunTomP: Reformulating Mediterranean foods from agricultural waste to provide consumers with nutrient-rich, sustainable alternatives. These innovative initiatives help us to learn how to reduce waste and inspire more opportunities. Let’s keep working towards mindful #consumption and waste reduction! 🙌
