  • The impact of infrastructure investments on #housing accessibility shouldn’t be overlooked. As a recent study by the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies and Urban Institute highlights, funds allocated for affordable housing are one way to help build self-sufficient communities by creating opportunity -- and, strategic implementation of transportation funding tied to other #infrastructure and federally funded initiatives can create significant influence on housing accessibility. The study points out interventions that can play a key role in the influence of transportation on #affordablehousing and offers the following considerations: 💡Integrated technical assistance between the two sectors can be established with partnerships that engage housing authorities to develop coordinated plans and align with broader metropolitan #transportation strategies. 💡Strong housing-related criteria should play a part in transportation grant programs to ensure that investments serve multi-tiered community needs. 💡Baseline requirements should be established to protect existing housing in funded transportation projects, including preventing disproportionate negative impacts on communities by preserving affordable housing stock. Interesting points to consider as the infrastructure industry looks to create more resilient, accessible communities. What are your thoughts on linking transportation infrastructure investments with housing solutions? https://lnkd.in/eXuqFsD7

  • Plexos Group, LLC Group is proud to partner with the Municipality of #Ceiba in the comprehensive revitalization of its urban area focusing on #sustainability, community well-being, and #economicgrowth. Our team has worked closely with Ceiba and its community development partners to facilitate grant administration services, and #environmental compliance and clearance. Efforts are helping bring significant improvements to the Felisa Rincón Public Square, creating an attractive, functional space for tourists and community events, with features like a platform for town activities and an information center with Wi-Fi. The revitalization, expected to be completed in May 2026, minimizes the area’s carbon footprint through the rehabilitation of existing infrastructures. The project also complies with current #environmental regulations and will be accessible according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Puerto Rico Building Code, and other applicable regulations. Funding for the project was made available through the Puerto Rico Department of Housing's Community Revitalization Program (CRP) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program. Please join us in congratulating the Plexos Group Ceiba team for their leadership and outstanding efforts! #UrbanDevelopment #Regulation #Infrastructure

  • Plexos Group, LLC is proud to partner with the city of #Roswell and surrounding areas in #ChavesCounty, #NewMexico to help spearhead recovery efforts following the severe and anomalous storm that devastated the area last fall. Within 48 hours of the storm’s landfall, our team was on the ground working with local officials and responding to the damaging effects of fast-moving muddy water, capsized vehicles and lost emergency #IT equipment that required a swift and complex rescue-mission of over 300 residents. Under the #leadership of Ashley Saulcy, Plexos Group senior project manager of emergency response, recovery, and disaster case management services for the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Management (DHSEM), federal declaration and the approval of a #DisasterCaseManagement grant was swiftly secured in a matter of weeks. Serving local governments, Plexos is assisting with the #FEMA Public Assistance financial recovery process and working with 1,600+ residents to help them navigate the layers of recovery resources and obtain rebuilding assistance. Our team is also managing the full-scope, right-of-way and time-sensitive debris operation related to recovery efforts, choreographing the interagency coordination across #federal and #state permitting authorities. • Interesting report released this month by intelligence firm Evergreen Analytics on the growing risks of severe #flooding events and their impact on the #supplychain infrastructure. The report which analyzed past events and identified trends found that the U.S. experienced 123 flooding events in 2024, making it the most flood-affected country globally. Elevated ocean temperatures responsible for fueling frequent and disruptive storms are a leading cause of flooding which poses the highest risk to #supplychain operations and #resilience of all events and catastrophes cited in the report. The devastation of flooding outpaces that of geopolitical instability, cyberattacks, and trade restrictions. What’s more is, the volatility of flooding events has increased in nations with advanced warning systems and infrastructure. This unpredictability poses significant challenges for even sophisticated and strategic logistics systems. As this study explains, a #datadriven approach, however, can help organizations plan ahead to mitigate and more effectively manage emergency event consequences of flooding and other #naturaldisasters. https://lnkd.in/eBXCcf7Q
