Meet Bridget, a dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) who has been a valued member of PIH Health Whittier Hospital for seven years. She began her journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the 3 Plaza respiratory unit in 2018. After six years, she decided to further her career in the medical field and is now pursuing her dream of becoming a registered nurse (RN). “I chose the medical field because I love to help people, and I have always wanted to be an RN,” she shares. Passionate about patient care, Bridget ensures that every patient feels heard and supported. “When I engage with patients, I keep my compassion at the forefront. Providing comfort and reassurance is a big part of nursing and bedside care,” she says. Dedicated to teamwork, Bridget believes that "teamwork makes the dream work," a value that helped her and her colleagues navigate the challenges of the pandemic while continuing to provide exceptional care. “The encouragement I received from my coworkers while in school for my LVN meant the world to me. I can’t thank them enough for their support. And, thank you to PIH Health for giving me the opportunity to grow in my career.” Outside of work, Bridget cherishes time with her family and grandchildren and finds peace at the beach, where she enjoys watching the sunset to recharge.
