Jim Kilgallon spent one of his Philosophy Days supporting the annual golf fundraiser for the Special Olympics Mongomery County, PA! For 35 years, Jim has been dedicated to this incredible cause, inspired by his personal connection—having cousins on both sides of his family who compete in the Special Olympics. Over the years, this event has become a family tradition for the Kilgallons, with memories of family reunions, friendly competition, and moments of pure joy. The day includes a round of golf played in a “scramble” format, where both supporters and athletes play together, followed by dinner, silent and live auctions, and inspiring stories from the athletes themselves. For Jim, it's the smiles and triumphs of these athletes that make every moment worthwhile. Though the Kilgallon family presence has gotten smaller over time, Jim, his cousins, and Uncle Dan are committed to keeping the tradition alive and making an impact. Orren T. spent his Philosophy Day making an incredible impact during Thanksgiving week! Together with his family, Orren volunteered with Feeding South Florida, a vital food bank serving Miami, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Their efforts in inspecting, sorting, and re-packaging food helped provide meals to families experiencing food insecurity. Orren’s experience was a heartfelt reminder of the power of community and gratitude during the holiday season. Erica Stem made her Philosophy Day unforgettable by volunteering at Pine Island Academy’s biggest fundraiser, the "Dolphin Dash"! This exciting fun run had students racing for 15 minutes, fueled by cheers from their supporters. Thanks to Erica’s efforts and the strong community turnout, the event raised over $80,000! Tracey Cooper spent his Philosophy Day making a difference at Clovercroft Elementary School! With just days before the start of the school year, Tracey volunteered to help assemble and move new furniture in teachers’ classrooms. Jordan (Baratta) Luedeke, MBA spent her Philosophy Day inspiring the next generation through her volunteer work with Girls on the Run Greater Charlotte! As a dedicated coach, Jordan spent time with her team preparing for their big end-of-season 5K while also giving back to the community. Together, they completed a meaningful service project by beautifying the school’s garden and amphitheater—complete with freshly planted vegetables, colorful painted benches, and motivational quotes. Jill Strasser turned her Philosophy Day into a mission to support her community! As the co-founder of Paws for Pittsboro Police, she helped raise funds to establish a canine unit for the local police department. Through organizing fundraising events and designing custom T-shirts, Jill and her team secured K-9 Zara, providing everything from training to vet care.
