About us

About PeaceHealth PeaceHealth, based in Vancouver, Wash., is a not-for-profit Catholic health system offering care to communities in Washington, Oregon and Alaska. PeaceHealth has approximately 16,000 caregivers, a medical group practice with more than 900 providers and 10 medical centers serving both urban and rural communities throughout the Northwest. In 1890, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace founded what has become PeaceHealth. The Sisters shared expertise and transferred wisdom from one medical center to another, always finding the best way to serve the unmet need for healthcare in their communities. Today, PeaceHealth is the legacy of the founding Sisters and continues with a spirit of respect, stewardship, collaboration and social justice in fulfilling its Mission. • #PeaceHealth is so proud to partner with Bellingham Technical College and of the many exceptional BTC alumni currently serving the Bellingham community at PeaceHealth.

BTC's Surgery Technology program prepares graduates for in-demand jobs as surgical technologists, who play a key role on the surgical team as they ensure a sterile environment that is safe for the patient and assist surgeons on a wide variety of procedures. “I’m working right there next to the doctor,” BTC Surgical Technology grad Christian Amano says. “It’s really rewarding. The work you’re doing is helping people.” Learn more about the program at www.btc.edu/surgtech Thank you to PeaceHealth St. Joseph for the opportunity to film our graduate in his work environment in the operating room, as well as Surgeon Mike Higgins for sharing his perspective on our graduates!
