  • The Pascagoula-Gautier School District proudly unveils its new logo! The PGSD Board of Trustees unanimously voted to approve the new design, a culmination of months of collaborative effort by a diverse committee. Comprising administrators, a student representative, a parent, a teacher, and a technology specialist, the committee dedicated extensive time and expertise to craft the logo. Prior to finalization, the design underwent rigorous review by student advisory members, parent advisory, and the district’s leadership team. This inclusive process emphasizes the district's commitment to fostering a culture of connectedness, aligning with one of the key objectives outlined in its new strategic plan. “The intention of the new logo is to symbolize the connectedness between two communities, uniting as one school district with the shared goal of educating and nurturing today’s learners to become tomorrow’s leaders,” said Supt. Billy Ellzey. “The bridge serves as a powerful representation of this strong connection, illustrating the collaboration and unity within the district. “Additionally, the colors in the logo — a fusion of the vibrant red and blue of the Panthers and the classic navy and gold of the Gators — not only pay homage to the respective identities of each community but also signify the harmonious blending of these distinct elements. While celebrating our diversity and individuality remains paramount as we continue to use the existing logos at the school level (the ‘P’ for our Panthers and the ‘G’ for our Gators), the district logo will embody our collective strength and shared vision for the future.”

Growth Awards are based on a school/grade level being within the top 10% of Mississippi schools for overall growth. Help us congratulate this PGSD schools and this great accomplishment!
