Karen Rice is the Chief Nursing Officer at PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Las Vegas, where she is committed to advancing patient care through collaborative leadership, innovation, and evidence-based practices. With 26 years of experience in nursing and nursing leadership, Karen brings a deep passion for fostering high-quality, compassionate care and improving clinical outcomes across diverse patient populations. Before stepping into the CNO role, Karen served as Director of ICU at the Valley Health System, where she was instrumental in leading initiatives that improved patient safety, nursing workflows, and staff engagement. Karen is especially proud of improvements in staff retention, reduction in CAUTI and CLABSI rates to below the national standard, and improvements in patient satisfaction. A dedicated advocate for nursing excellence, Karen emphasizes a leadership philosophy centered on collaboration, empowerment, and continuous learning. As CNO, Karen strives to create a supportive and dynamic environment that encourages professional growth for nursing staff while maintaining a sharp focus on delivering exceptional patient outcomes. Outside of work, Karen enjoys playing billiards and cherishes time spent with her family and friends, finding balance and joy in life beyond the hospital.
