Own Your Career Own Your Life

I am so grateful for the life I get to live. Its not perfect and I still have many challenges and make mistakes, but it’s a life I love. And a big reason I get to live this life is that I took ownership, I took time to recognize my strengths, to connect with my values and priorities, to design the career and life I want, and to invest in getting help from others. This didn’t just magically happen. I worked hard for this. Invested a lot of money. Learned from others. Tried stuff. Made mistakes. Learned from them. Kept going and improving and I’m still doing that today. I’ve built a couple businesses, started three podcasts, hosted two conferences, published a book, spoken in companies and at conferences around the world. I’ve also marketed events that never happened. Lost tons of deals. Wasted time building stuff that never launched. Hired people who didn’t deliver what they promised, been scammed, lost lots of money on bad investments, and started a podcast to teach people about something that turned out to be a fad. But I’ve also learned a ton, found my passion, built a career and business based on my strengths, and a life that I love, and made some pretty good money leveraging my strengths. And I own it all the way which is the most important thing. Now I get to teach others how to overcome challenges and own their careers and I love it. And I’m working on more great stuff including the next conference in November and a new book after that. I hope you’re owning your career and building around your strengths. The rewards are just so great.
