As part of National Osteopathic Medicine week, Foundation staff joined Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine Dublin Campus students today to make blankets for youth in the foster care system. #NOMweek

The Foundation spent three days learning with, and from, leaders in Osteopathic Medical Education and Research at the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM)'s Educating Leaders 2025 conference. The Foundation also sponsored a pre-conference research forum with research leaders from Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine across the nation.

Groundbreaking research suggests a potential link between infections and Alzheimer’s disease, and two leading experts are bringing the latest insights to the J.O. Watson, DO, Memorial Lecture at the Ohio Osteopathic Symposium this April. Dr. Brian Balin and Dr. Graciela Muniz-Terrera will explore how this research could impact prevention, treatment and future care strategies. Dr. Balin is a Professor of the Department of Bio-Medical Sciences and the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation Endowed Chair for Aging Research in Honor of Ruth E. Purdy, DO, George O. Faerber, DO, and Peter E. Johnston, DO, at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Dr. Muniz-Terrera is a Professor of Social Medicine and the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation Ralph S. Licklider, DO, Endowed Professor in Health and Aging at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.

The Spring 2025 grant cycle of the Rocky Community Improvement Fund (RCIF) is now open, in partnership with the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation. The Foundation and RCIF invite applications from agencies serving Athens and surrounding counties, with an emphasis on organizations serving Nelsonville, to support programs focused on healthy food access, educational opportunities for youth, behavioral health services and programming for older adults. Construction has officially begun on the Heritage Translational Research Center at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine!
