HELMET — the new benchmark for evaluating long-context language models — is now integrated into the OPEA GenAIEval repository. Developed with Princeton University and Intel Corporation, HELMET goes beyond synthetic evaluation. It tests models across citation generation, retrieval, summarization, and more — all at long-context scales. This provides meaningful insights into how LLMs actually perform on practical use cases. We’re excited to include HELMET in GenAIEval to support more reliable, reproducible LLM research. Check out the blog: https://lnkd.in/gCQ-bgtX Repository: https://lnkd.in/ecZU7rpr

The final session of OPEA Week is a practical, build-focused hackathon for anyone working with GenAI. You'll start by deploying a ready-made RAG application on AWS EKS using OPEA and CloudFormation—then customize it using real-world components: ✔ Add LLM guardrails ✔ Plug in OpenSearch as a vector database ✔ Extend inference to other providers ✔ Experiment with Amazon Bedrock It’s hands-on, fast-paced, and designed to help you streamline GenAI deployment without rebuilding the stack. One year of OPEA! What started as a whitepaper has grown into a thriving open source project with over 50 partners... and a fast-growing community of developers, contributors, and enterprise adopters. In this post, Dr. Malini Bhandaru, Intel Senior Principal Engineer + OPEA Technical Steering Committee Chair, and Rachel Roumeliotis, OPEA Ecosystem & Community Manager and Intel Director of Open Source Strategy, share some of the milestones that made the last year so memorable, like publishing our first Helm charts, hosting hands-on workshops, powering deployments from the United Nations to Dell Technologies, and launching GenAI tools that run across clouds, hardware, and industries. With six active sub-repos, new partner integrations, and OPEA Week just around the corner, we’re just getting started.
