"I started donating blood in 2007. I remembered that my father frequently donated blood. So, I wanted to start up that tradition again. While donating blood in Maryland, I asked about the other types of donations. Once I learned that platelets help cancer patients fight cancer, I switched to donating platelets. After my wife died from Ovarian Cancer I moved to California where I continued to donate platelets. Last August I moved to Florida.
