  • 🚨 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱! 🚨 OSMA is excited to announce the launch of our campaign supporting the introduction of 8 critical pieces of legislation in the Ohio House and Senate aimed at addressing the burdens healthcare providers face due to insurance company practices.  These bills will bring much-needed transparency and fairness to our healthcare system, empowering physicians to make decisions in the best interest of their patients. The proposed reforms include:  1️⃣ 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 “𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱”: Reward providers for high prior authorization approval rates. 2️⃣ 𝗡𝗼𝗻-𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴: Stop mid-year formulary changes that disrupt patient care. 3️⃣ 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴: Protect providers from unfair claim adjustments. 4️⃣ 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗔𝗱𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗰𝘆: Ensure insurance networks are sufficient, accessible, and transparent. 5️⃣ 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀/𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘄𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀: Protect providers from unfair insurer takebacks. 6️⃣ 𝗡𝗼 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗙𝗧𝘀: Ban insurers from charging for electronic fund transfers. 7️⃣ 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘀: Strengthen the appeals process, limit retroactive denials and protect providers from charges. 8️⃣ 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗨𝘀𝗲: Require transparency in insurer use of AI in decision-making.
