Each year, we gather together with our farmer-owners for the Annual Grower Meeting. Part learning workshops, part stockholder meeting, and part celebration, all aspects of this gathering are for the farmers who make up this cooperative to reconnect, engage, and hear more about what is happening with the business of Ocean Spray. No matter the season, our farmer-owners are hard at work. This time of year, growers flood their bogs/marshes to protect the vines from the freezing temperatures. Once a thick layer of ice forms, growers can drive on the ice to spread a thin layer of sand. And when the ice melts, the sand sifts into the vines and helps to stimulate vine growth, control pests and improve soil structure. Growing cranberries is truly a year-round labor of love! #OceanSprayLife #CranberryGrower
