About us
Northeast Collaborative Architects' work is exciting and we enjoy bringing our clients into the process with traditional and digital design tools. Our practice is constantly adapting to the ever-evolving digital world. We now use both major BIM software platforms (the USA dominant product and the European tool) to explore our project solutions. We use 3D modeling software for presentations and also hand sketches and physical models to quickly test and develop ideas for our private, public and institutional clients. NCA has built a reputation for delivering quality, innovative, award-winning projects. Our basic services encompass architecture, master planning, and sustainable design. Our work spans new designs, restorations and adaptive reuse with a special interest in cultural, municipal, hospitality, education and residential sectors. NCA is a highly motivated team of architects who work in a studio environment. Our professionals share and develop ideas critical for collaboration and develop efficient, cost cycle and buildable designs that inspire clients, stakeholders and the public. Newport Collaborative Architects and Bianco Giolitto Weston Architects merged in 2011 to create a northeast regional firm. For over 40 years, we have established strong collaborative relationships with experts throughout the industry, allowing us to develop innovative structural and environmental strategies that can deliver the best possible solutions.

NCA principals John D. Scheib Jr. and Sean S. Donadio, AIA recently participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center at CT State Tunxis. NCA played a pivotal role by conducting the initial study and subsequently designing several phases of the project, which transformed nearly 15,000 square feet of space within a former industrial complex adjacent to the CT State Tunxis campus. The newly unveiled center boasts a state-of-the-art Manufacturing Technology lab equipped with CNC machines, mills, lathes, as well as specialized cutting and grinding equipment. The facility also includes essential support spaces such as computer labs, a conference room, offices, and designated areas for faculty and program functions. This center is set to enhance the educational experience and readiness of students pursuing lucrative and fulfilling careers in advanced manufacturing, a sector crucial to the regional economy. Governor Ned Lamont addressed attendees at the event, expressing gratitude to the school administrators and faculty for their dedication in bringing this project to life. He also welcomed local business leaders who are anticipated to be future employers of the center's graduates, thus strengthening the link between education and industry in the area. Special and sincere thanks to Matt Allen for the photo of John, Sean, and Walter Lehner of Nosal Builders, Inc. who were General Contractors on Phase 1 of this project.

Adaptive reuse is breathing new life into old buildings and transforming the architecture, engineering, construction, and operations (AECO) industry in the process. Rather than demolishing structures, adaptive reuse repurposes them for modern needs, preserving history while reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact. https://lnkd.in/e2QS5NrA
