Staff from the Middlesex Vicinage spoke with students about internships and career opportunities with the Judiciary when they participated in several career fairs last week. The events included career fairs at McKinley Community School in New Brunswick, South Brunswick High School, and Woodbridge High School, which was held at the Woodbridge Community Center.

The Middlesex Vicinage held its third annual resource fair last week for participants of the Judiciary’s recovery court program and mental health and veterans’ diversion programs, as well as probation and pretrial services clients. The resource fair, which drew more than 200 attendees to the Middlesex County Courthouse in New Brunswick, featured more than 55 exhibitors offering a number of services, including recovery support, wellness coaching, transportation, housing, health, employment, education, and job training. An on-site interview room allowed participants to apply for job openings. Throughout the day, education workshops were offered on a variety of topics. Health screenings were available for participants to obtain baseline readings certain health risk factors.

Monmouth Vicinage law clerks were treated to a Lunch and Learn event hosted by Assignment Judge Marc C. Lemieux and the Monmouth Bar Association recently. Attorneys from private and public sectors, who sat on the panel along with newly appointed Family Presiding Judge Jeanette Russell, shared insights into their respective practice areas of law.
