Honored to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for The Broad’s expansion in downtown LA — a major cultural milestone as the city prepares for the 2028 Olympics and a bold step forward for public access to contemporary art. It’s been a privilege to serve as counsel alongside my colleagues Rudy Salo David Song on the financing of this visionary project. The Broad’s continued growth reflects the enduring commitment of Eli and Edythe Broad — champions of creativity, education, and civic engagement. As I listened to the speakers today, I was reminded of the Eli Broad's book which quoted George Bernard Shaw --"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.” Eli Broad embodied that spirit. Through The Broad museum, The Broad Foundations, and now this exciting expansion, his vision continues to shape Los Angeles for generations to come. #TheBroad #LosAngeles #BondCounsel #PublicFinance #Philanthropy #TheArtofBeingUnreasonable #LArising #NixonPeabody
