Here’s why it matters so much: When employees aren’t satisfied with their work schedule, it affects how they perceive all aspects of their job. Workhuman reports that employees whose work arrangement does not fit their preference are less likely to feel connected to their organization’s culture; they're less likely to accomplish the tasks they need to during the work week; and they’re less likely to see a path for future growth at the organization. 48% are planning to look for a job in the coming year. Do job descriptions really define what we do?🤔 Every day, the majority of workers respond to change in some form. 71% say they perform some work outside of their stated scope of job responsibility, and most (65%) report that the skills and capabilities required to perform their jobs have changed in the past two years, according to Deloitte. So where does that leave job descriptions? Job descriptions are more than guidelines during hiring. They are structural building blocks that are essential for performance management and professional development. The only question is – can traditional job descriptions keep up with workplace transformation? Experts say job descriptions should be updated at least once per year. On top of that, most companies are taking different approaches during hiring.
