National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) applauds the re-introduction of The Preserving Patient Access to Home Infusion Act — bipartisan, bicameral legislation that will ensure Medicare patients can receive the intravenous (IV) medications they need while at home. Introduced in the House by Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL), Rep. Diana Harshbarger (R-TN), Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI), and Rep. Terri Sewell (D-AL), and in the Senate by Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), the legislation would create a complete home infusion benefit for Medicare patients with serious viral and fungal infections, heart failure, immune diseases, cancer, and other conditions that require the use of an infusion pump. Still riding the high from NHIA 2025! What an incredible experience—my first time speaking at the conference, and I absolutely loved every minute of it. It was an honor to share the stage and co-present with the amazing Amanda Kelley. Huge thanks to her for being such a thoughtful collaborator and partner in bringing our session to life. The energy, the networking, the learning—everything was so engaging. It was so good to see familiar faces and make new connections, all while diving into the latest trends and best practices in home infusion. I left feeling energized, inspired, and even more proud to be part of this ever-evolving field. Already working on my topic submission for 2026—can’t wait to do it all over again in Colorado! #NHIA2025 #HomeInfusion #Grateful #Leadership #HealthcareInnovation

What an amazing week at the National Home Infusion Association annual conference!!! Thank you to our sponsors and everyone who attended, presented sessions, exhibited, and shared their research to advance the home infusion profession. The passion and enthusiasm for improving patient's lives through education, innovation, and collaboration was on full display and I could not be prouder of the #NHIA team and Education Committee for their efforts to create a top notch event. We can't wait to get started planning for next year in Denver, CO. Until then, we will continue to support this incredibly dynamic industry through our advocacy efforts, and by keeping you informed on the latest trends with education, tools, and resources. #homeinfusion #infusion

As #NHIA25 wraps up today, I want to commend the NHIA staff on a great conference experience. I got to make a trip back to my hometown and catch up with friends and colleagues along the way. Each time I’ve attended, I find myself amazed by the great work being done around the industry to take home infusion to the next level. I’m leaving reinvigorated, ready to continue pushing the boundaries on what we can do in this space for our patients. Until next time! We are having a lovely final morning at #NHIA25 with a networking breakfast before sessions. So many smiles and comradery after a week of connection and learning. We also had some amazing education left. In "All Roads Lead Back to the Intake Process," Jeannie Lugli shared that "every new referral is a new research project." Lugli highlighted the importance of keeping your intake team close and integrated, documenting all intake calls (possibly with the help of AI) and determining when a patient's plan renews to ensure when a patient is on service or when plans might change. She also provided an insightful reminder of how informative it can be to run statistics on your denials to determine impact and assess where to focus efforts on process improvement and mitigation.

NHIA is excited to announce the winner of the 2025 Innovation Award: Rockfield Medical Devices for Mobility+™, the first elastomeric lightweight, mobile, silent enteral feeding system for patients aged 2 years and older, with gastrostomy or jejunostomy feeding tube. This enteral feeding system works mechanically without need for gravity or electricity, and is wearable, filling a gap between simple bolus/gravity systems and more complex pump systems. NHIA launched the award to recognize a game-changing product or service. A panel of NHIA expert member clinicians evaluated exhibitor products and services introduced within the last 2 years for their ability to improve quality and safety, boost efficiency, or reduce administrative burden for providers.
